Request account and data deletion

This page explains how users of BetterShelf, DreamWitness, Kvitta, BetterMingle, and TAROTIQ apps by CodeWhiskers can request deletion of their account and associated personal data in accordance with Google Play rules and GDPR.

Which apps are covered

  • BetterShelf – household inventory, expiration tracking, and shopping management.
  • DreamWitness – dream interpretation and AI consultant.
  • Kvitta (Android) – shared group expense management.
  • Kvitta Web – web version of the Kvitta app.
  • BetterMingle – group event planning and coordination.
  • TAROTIQ – AI tarot readings with personal fortune teller Madame Stella.

All apps use shared Firebase infrastructure. The process for account and data deletion is the same.

How to request deletion

  1. In the respective app, go to Settings → Account → Account management → "Request account deletion".
  2. If you don't have the app installed, email us from the address used in your account at hello@codewhiskers.app with the subject:
    • "BetterShelf account deletion" – for the BetterShelf app,
    • "DreamWitness account deletion" – for the DreamWitness app,
    • "Kvitta account deletion" – for the Kvitta / Kvitta Web app,
    • "BetterMingle account deletion" – for the BetterMingle app,
    • "TAROTIQ account deletion" – for the TAROTIQ app.
  3. We'll confirm your request and process it within 30 days (usually within 7 days).

If you use multiple CodeWhiskers apps and want to delete data from all of them, you can include that in a single request.

Identity verification

Requests made within the app are automatically tied to your account. For requests via email, we may ask you to confirm a verification code sent to your email, or provide additional information for security.

What data we delete

BetterShelf

  • Account data (email, profile photo, internal identifiers).
  • Shelves, products, photos, notes, consumption statistics.
  • Shared shelf memberships and invitations.
  • App settings and notification preferences.

DreamWitness

  • Account data (email or anonymous identifier, internal identifiers).
  • AI dream analysis history and saved conversations.
  • DreamWitness Plus purchase data.
  • App settings and preferences.

Kvitta / Kvitta Web

  • Account data (email, display name, profile photo, internal identifiers).
  • Groups, expenses, settlements, and activity history.
  • Group memberships and payment preferences.
  • App settings and notification preferences.

BetterMingle

  • Account data (email, display name, profile photo, internal identifiers).
  • Events, participants, polls, chat messages, and photos.
  • Expenses, settlements, carpool rides, and room assignments.
  • Tasks, packing lists, schedules, and event ratings.
  • Event memberships and subscriptions.
  • App settings and notification preferences.

TAROTIQ

  • Account data (email, zodiac sign, internal identifiers).
  • Reading history, saved interpretations, and drawn cards.
  • Coin balance and purchase history.
  • Achievements and statistics.
  • App settings and preferences.

Third-party data processed by Google (e.g., purchases or subscriptions through Google Play) is governed by Google's terms and may not be part of this request.

What we may retain temporarily

To fulfill legal obligations and resolve disputes, we may keep minimal technical records (e.g., consent logs and accounting documents) for a necessary period, typically up to 30 days, or longer where required by law. These records aren't used for any other purpose.
